Legal Fireworks:  Fireworks friendly States, GA and PA

Fireworks friendly States, GA and PA both have bills pushing to change the fireworks friendliness of their laws. GA is looking to further restrict their recent legalization, by cutting back on “legal” times fireworks can be shot and by giving local governments more control on legality.  The current law allowing fireworks to be set off until 2 a.m. around the New Year’s Day and the Fourth of July holidays would be revised to set a midnight fireworks curfew July 3-4 and Jan. 1. Georgians would be allowed to set off fireworks on New Year’s Eve until 1 a.m. Jan. 1. And, the midnight fireworks cutoff time for the rest of the year would be moved up to 10 p.m. Any times outside those specifically mentioned in the bill would be handled by local authorities.

Firework Factory Explosion in China.

Another tragic firework factory explosion in China just before the Chinese New Year. Ten people were reported killed and seven injured in an explosion in another firework factory explosion in China just weeks ahead of the Chinese New Year, authorities said.

The Tongxu county government in Henan province said the cause of the blast was not immediately clear and was under investigation.

China is less than a month away from new year celebrations, when holiday revelers set off fireworks. There are frequent fireworks-related incidents at factories in the weeks leading to the holiday, as China generally has a poor record in workplace safety.

Biggest Firework in the USA

Steamboat Springs, CO. USA. was the location for a 2016 launch of the biggest firework shell to be sent skyward in the entire Western Hemisphere.  The 36″ diameter shell was loaded into a giant steel pipe, or mortar that was buried in the mountain side and 58lbs, that’s right 58 pounds of black powder was used to propel the shell skyward!  For comparison, the biggest consumer firework we sell here at USFireworks is 1-3/4″…but we think they are just as impressive!  Well, almost.  If your a lot closer.
